HirePrep is a free service to practice online "asynchronous" interviewers. This kind of interview is when you read a interview question and record yourself on a webcam responding to it.

Get Feedback

We provide feedback on your interviews to help you improve your interviewing style and approach.

Contribute to Science

Each of our virtual interviewing opportunities represents a university research study trying to build a science of virtual interviewing. We are non-profit researchers trying to make interviews better for everyone.

What is HirePrep?

HirePrep is a free online interviewing platform managed by the University of Minnesota and supported by the National Science Foundation . This platform is intended to help job seekers prepare for digital interviews.

Why should I participate?

By participating you would be improving your interviewing skills while also contributing to scientific research on the virtual job interviewing experience.

How much does this cost?

Because all virtual interviewing on this platform is used for university research, it is completely free. You will never be asked for any kind of monetary payment.

HirePrep is used by industrial-organizational psychology researchers to conduct research on virtual interviewing. That means that every opportunity to practice is paired with a specific research study.

At the beginning of every study, you will see an agreement, often called a "consent form" or "notification statement," that outlines any benefits or risks that the study brings. That form should also provide contact information for the university ethics office that approved the study, whom you can contact to verify.

Unfortunately, because research labs are small and non-profit, we have limited staff to run studies and constantly provide feedback. Studies will only be available when approved by university ethics reviewers and when we have the resources available to write or generate your feedback. If you would like to be notified when a new study becomes available, join the platform using the Sign Up link above and be sure to provide accurate contact information in your profile.
